“All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”  ―  Martha Graham As much as I love to travel, the best thing about visiting other blogs is no packing is required. Today, I’m visiting Australian author, Monique McDonnell chatting about Lovestruck Two Step and the best writing advice I ever received.    And on January 26 th you will have the opportunity to get to know this former exchange student to America when Monique is a guest on Mariposa’s Musings.

Review for Ladies Man

Image
"Who really wants to be themselves when they're teenagers?" Stephen Colbert Kam's Place   gave Ladies Man   💖💖💖 1/2 "Ladies Man  is more than a love story. It touched upon real life scenarios parents face daily: teenagers blooming interest in boys and/or girls, underage drinking, and the aftereffects of divorce. We, parents/caregivers, know raising kids is a hard job. At times, our kids will get mad at us. They will yell, shed tears, and keep secrets. However, they also bring us much joy and laughter. "

Review for Package Deal

"Forget your troubles and dance" Bob Marley For writers besides dancing, there's nothing like a positive review to chase away the blues. "Mariposa wrote a charming story about a closed off woman who opened her heart again..."  Kameron Brook                           Kam's Place  gave Package Deal  ðŸ’–💖💖

Mariposa Interview-Coffee Time & Romance

Image
"Above all, be the heroine of your own life, not the victim." Nora Ephron Asking an author to reveal a favorite character is like asking a parent to name a favorite child. At the risk of making my other literary children jealous, I'm over at Coffee Time Romance & More  chatting about my favorite heroine from Wedding Tango . Find out about the real heroines who inspired Moira Williams.

Off to the Writing Corner

Image
While doing the research for Wedding Tango , I came across some interesting wedding superstitions. According to Argentine lore to avoid rain on your wedding day you can do one of the following: Stick a knife in the ground. Sprinkle salt in the shape of a cross in the garden. Bury an egg in the ground. However the same article also noted that Argentinians believe that rain on the wedding day brings good luck. So I guess you're covered either way. Speaking of good luck, I'm fortunate to be a guest today on Rebecca Grace's My Writing Corner . Hope to see you there!

On the Road Again

I'm visiting the Roses of Prose today and sharing an excerpt from Ladies Man. Hope to see you there!

Got Ghosts?

Image
One of the things I like most about Halloween is ghost stories and Northern Nevada has some chilling stories! Most people associate ghosts with old houses or graveyards. Apparently ghosts can reside anywhere there are strong feelings or intense memories.  I'm thrilled to be at Brenda Whiteside's blog today chatting about a sighting not far from my current office. Wishing all of you a Happy Halloween! Hope to see you there!

Best of the West

Image
In celebration of the release of Ladies Man, the production team shares what they consider the best of the West. They worked with me on Package Deal and Hot Flash and I'm thrilled to work with them again. Stevie DeInk-Formatting Personally, I'm pretty fond of the scenery throughout the West-not to mention how varied it is. You've got the stark beauty of the desert, the coast across California, even thick forests up in Washington. The weather can be a bit crazy sometimes, but there is always a gorgeous spot somewhere around the corner. In addition to formatting, Stevie does cover design. Featured is one of her covers. Harris Channing -Cover Design Harris is an author in her own right as well as designer. When asked what I love about the West, I had to stop and think.  As a Southern girl, it pains me to say that the furthest west I’ve ever been is Louisiana .  So, I had to go deeper into things I like about the West. And what intrigues me is the h...

Dancing to Australia

Image
Did you know an Italian study discovered that recovering heart surgery patients were happier taking waltz classes than those who cycled or ran the treadmill? I know I'd rather be on the dance floor than anywhere else. Quick update: I've been busy with the final edits on the 2nd title in the Rhythm & Romance series. Harris Channing just sent me the cover and it's gorgeous! I hope to release "Ladies Man" later this Fall. Today I'm guest posting at Louise http://louiselyndon.blogspot.com Lyndon's blog about a certain cowboy who first invited me onto the dance floor. My sister  Wild Rose author is based in Melbourne, Australia and I'm thrilled to be her guest. Hope to see you there!

Cooking Up Some Magic-Update

Image
I've interviewed many authors from young mothers to empty-nesters and having time to write is always a challenge. In fact having time for one's passions is a struggle for just about everyone including crafters, gym rats, joggers, sports fans, pet parents, readers and gardeners. Just in time for holiday shopping, We'd Rather Be Writing , is now available in print as well as an e-book . 88 authors share their favorite time saving dinner recipes and other tips. Edited by USA Today Bestselling Author, Lois Winston , the contributors range from debut authors to authors with an established writing careers and I'm thrilled to be part of a very talented group. Best of all a portion of the proceeds go to No Kid Hungry .

On the Road Again

Image
One of the things I loved best about taking my kids trick or treating is going to the neighbors' houses and getting a peek inside--some had a full view of the living room with a warm fire in the hearth, others offered only a glimpse of an antique coat rack or winding staircase. Today I'm chatting about Package Deal at Rebecca Grace 's blog with a hint about the next title in the Rhythm & Romance series. I love visiting authors' on-line homes (without the dark, chilly walk). I'm happy to report Rebecca will be a guest on my blog on November 7th.  Hope to see you there!
