the Shucker's Booktique After her fiancé dumps her and her beloved Aunt Jenny goes missing, Willa Eklund travels to Lobster Cove with a broken heart to search for Jenny while running her bookstore. When a mysterious man visits the Shucker'sBooktique on a stormy night drenched in rain and covered in mud, Willa's heart melts under his stormy gaze. She wants Lon and the answers he may have, but he also has a secret. Can Willa trust him? Lon Devlin is a Tempest, a water sprite who can only take a human form during stormy nights. He rides the waves, lives by the tides, and nothing can hold him down, not even a beautiful woman. When he visits his mortal friend, he discovers she's missing and her intriguing niece has taken her place. He wants Willa, but he also wants answers. What happened to Jenny? What inspired you to become a writer? My mother and fellow author, Jo-Ann Carson , always encouraged me to write. I grew up in a very remote island off the west coas...

Saturday Shifters-Jamie Leigh Hansen

Image
Tell me about yourself.   How long have you been writing? My name is Jamie Leigh Hansen and I’ve been writing professionally for 16 years. Wow. Time really does fly. J I have always loved reading and, while growing up, I was rarely without a book in hand. Writing stories for class projects was fun, I loved making up these huge dramatic and emotional stories. As a career, I didn’t get serious until I joined Romance Writers of America. Every day since is a measure of how much can I learn about this art and this business before my brain explodes? My love of paranormal stories has evolved since watching Kindred and then Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Shifters, in particular, I became fascinated with when reading Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series and Christine Feehan’s Carpathian series. I hadn’t considered writing them until The Murder King’s Woman. Where did the inspiration for this story come from? Trisha Telep approached me to write a short story for The Mammot...

Saturday Shifters-Stacey Brutger

Tell me about yourself.   How long have you been writing?   I came into reading late, but once I picked up my first book, I haven’t stopped since. I devoured books in every genre. That love changed subtly when I tried my hand at writing my own stories. I’ve been writing for over ten years, learning and improving my craft. After finishing ten books, I finally took the plunge and published my first book (Electric Storm) last year. It’s been a very exciting ride.   Where did the inspiration for this story come from? Inspiration is everywhere. For BloodSworn, inspiration came in the form of one the title: BloodSworn. The plot quickly unfolded from there. But plot isn’t everything. Merrick, the lion shifter in my latest release, had a big hand in helping the characters come alive. He was domineering and very pigheaded on how he thought the story should be written. Trina was more subtle but no less demanding. Together, they were magic, their devotion and love tou...

Saturday Shifters-Melissa Snark

Image
Tell me about yourself.   How long have you been writing? My name is Melissa Snark, which is actually a pen name, chosen to provide my poor family with a degree of privacy. For a kid, it is tough enough not wanting to be seen with your uncool mom. In real life, I'm mouthy and sarcastic. Throw in the fact that I write erotica and chronicle the adventures of the Snark family on my blog, and I'm nightmare mom. My family is hysterical—three kids, four if you count Mr. Snark, and three cats. We're somewhere on the spectrum between Family Circus and Married With Children . Something is always going on. For instance, during my shower this morning my two-year-old daughter used her unsupervised break as an opportunity to unwind an entire roll of toilet paper. Then, as if that wasn't enough, she shredded some of it. It was everywhere—kitchen, office, on the stairs. You'd think she was a cat. Anyway, back to writing. I've been writing since I was a kid. I th...
