Image
"If you get tangled up, just tango on." Al Pacino Though I'm not tangled at the moment, I do feel like dancing and not just because it's Friday. Kam's Place   gave Wedding Tango  ðŸ’“💓💓💓 "There was plenty of drama unfolding in  Wedding Tango , but readers also experienced love (old and new) between several characters.  ....Do I recommend this short story?  Yes."

Mariposa Interview-Coffee Time & Romance

Image
"Above all, be the heroine of your own life, not the victim." Nora Ephron Asking an author to reveal a favorite character is like asking a parent to name a favorite child. At the risk of making my other literary children jealous, I'm over at Coffee Time Romance & More  chatting about my favorite heroine from Wedding Tango . Find out about the real heroines who inspired Moira Williams.

Dance & the First Draft

Image
"Dance first. Think later. It's the natural order of things." Samuel Beckett What the Irish author and playwright once said of dancing also applies to writing.  Although I've long ago given myself permission to write an awkward first draft, at times I find myself tinkering with a particular sentence instead of forging ahead to finish the story. Even those of us who "know better" need a gentle reminder sometimes.  After all who am I to argue with a Nobel Prize winner?

Off to the Writing Corner

While doing the research for Wedding Tango , I came across some interesting wedding superstitions. According to Argentine lore to avoid rain on your wedding day you can do one of the following: Stick a knife in the ground. Sprinkle salt in the shape of a cross in the garden. Bury an egg in the ground. However the same article also noted that Argentinians believe that rain on the wedding day brings good luck. So I guess you're covered either way. Speaking of good luck, I'm fortunate to be a guest today on Rebecca Grace's My Writing Corner . Hope to see you there!

Wedding Tango Moira Williams is dismayed when her daughter, Tami, announces her engagement. Sure Jon’s a great guy, but why do they have to get married in Buenos Aires?  Though she dreads seeing her ex-husband, Alan, the gorgeous father of the groom has her pulse racing. Widower Alan Rochester buries his grief with non-stop home improvement projects, but a sexy redhead has captured his attention.  He’s eager to show Moira the sights of Buenos Aires from his college days, but is he ready to face the world again?  South of the equator, nothing is as it seems.  Can Moira and Alan navigate through their feelings for each other and save their kids’ dream wedding from becoming a nightmare? I first enjoyed Tres Leches Cake at a potluck with my Salsa friends.  This sweet moist cake is a perfect accompaniment with Wedding Tango.  This cake gets its moistness and its moniker (literally “three milks” in Spanish) from being soaked in three k...

Why You Should Tango

Image
In case you were wondering if Tango is for you, here’s what some of the experts have to say: “No other dance takes you over so completely. More than a dance, it becomes a way of life.” Camille Cusamano , “Tango An Argentine Love Story”. “Tango is so strongly associated with Buenos Aires that a visit isn’t complete unless you immerse yourself at least once.”    The Rough Guide to Argentina, 5 th edition Researchers at the University of New England in South Wales and Australian National University in Canberra discovered significant improvement in mood of their subjects after only two weeks of Tango lessons.   “If you get all tangled up, just Tango on.” Al Pacino After that amazing Tango scene in Scent of a Woman can anyone argue with Al Pacino?  Just saying… Wedding Tango : Moira Williams is dismayed when her daughter, Tami, announces her engagement. Sure Jon’s a great guy, but why do they have to get married in Buenos Aires?...

Of Love & Travel-Interview with Romance Travel Expert-Carolyn Vaught

Image
Since Wedding Tango is all about what can go wrong with a destination wedding, I thought it would be fun to interview Romance Travel Expert, Carolyn Vaught, about how brides can find their "happily ever after" in an exotic location. How did you get into the destination wedding/travel business?  Travel has always been a big part of my life.  My first real adventure was a 3-month rail and youth hostel trip through Europe when I was 19.  After working in administration in a continuing education department where I coordinated the university's residential travel programs, I went to work for various tour operators.  One was a small company offering high-end adventure travel in India, Nepal and South America.  The other was a large student travel company.  On a lark, in 2005, I purchased a franchise with a new company called All About Honeymoons & Destination Weddings.  When that company folded a few years later, I joined one of my AAH colleagues ...

Wedding Tango-Release Party

To celebrate the publication of Wedding Tango , I asked the production team  What is your favorite romantic locale? Marian Kelly-Editor-Ravensgate Editing Services Marian also writes Regency Romance as Colleen Ladd. My vote for the best place to take a romantic vacation is Salzburg, Austria . It’s a fairytale landscape, complete with a truly  old  Old Town, winter wonderland scenery, and an actual castle. Plus, it’s the birthplace of Mozart and home to absolutely gorgeous music to go along with the breathtaking scenery. There’s truly nothing missing—investigate the ancient buildings, tour the castle, go skiing on nearby Untersberg mountain, and when the day is done, cuddle close to your beau before a roaring fire. Perfect! Stevie DeInk-Formatting In addition to formatting, Stevie also does cover design. I'm not much of a swimmer but I think there's something peaceful and sweet about a secluded beach. A scenic place like Lake Tahoe , Nevada where yo...
